“Oh Yes Its Ladies Night!”
On yesterday morning, it was announced that their would be a new show documentary series to come on the the channel “BET.” They later announced that the show would follow the careers and lives of the 90’s legend girl groups, Salt and Peppa with Spinderella, EnVouge and SWV. Each girl gtoup was popular in their own right starting with Salt and Peppa featuring DJ Spindella. This girl group started in the late 80’s but flourished in all of the 90’s glory with such hits as, “Push It,” What a Man,” and “Let’s Talk About Sex.” The group disbanded briefly in the early 00’s to pursue separate endeavors but soon joined forces again and are ow touring all of the world. Next group that popped unto the scene was girl group EnVouge. This group was started in 1990 and from the very moment that created long lasting hits that continue to stay current and something that will always have your heart. They had such hits like, “Never Gonna Get It,” “Whats It Gonna Be,” and they also joined with Salt ad Peppa in their song “What a Man.”
Over their 2 decade reign on the industry, two of the founded members left the group with management issues and soon after they left, the two remaining searched and obtained another member. Just recently, the girls went on a morning tv show and stated that they would mind to another show with all members. Let’s hope that that may happen on this show. Lastly the girl group SWV. SWV (Sister With Voices) was founded in 1992 in New York City and from that very moment, they created hits that have went to every generation and probably will go to the next. With a plethora of hits such as,”Weak,” “You’re the One,” and “Can We” to name a few, the girls are known for their rough exterior but their sweet and innocent but strong voices. The girls disbanded in 1998 with the world wanted to know why. They continued to so solo projects but it never took off because people was so used to having all three. The girls got back together in 2008 to give it another chance and when that went well, they never broke up again and continue to tour the world. So my prayer is that this show will be a positive show and represent these legends well and who knows, they might do this show for other popular girl groups of the 90’s.
